About Wagala Compound
Welcome! My name is
Lucy Wagala and I am the founder and owner of Wagala Compound. Wagala Compound was created from my passion to help others find healing through natural medicine. I believe that a holistic approach to health can assist in restoring the body's self-healing properties. There are many tools that can be used when implementing a holistic approach--one of them being natural medicine. It was during my time in pharmacy school that I realized my calling to pursue natural medicine. During my school practicals, I encountered patients that were not achieving relief from the various pharmaceuticals that had been prescribed, and I began to wonder what other options they might have. As I dug deeper into the world of natural medicine, I realized that the early pharmacists were really the neighborhood herbalists. It assured me that I was on the right path. I decided that in some way I wanted to incorporate natural medicine into my practice as a future pharmacist and after pharmacy school I would find a way to study all I could about natural medicine.
After graduating pharmacy school and receiving my Doctor of Pharmacy Degree in 2017 from Ohio Northern University Raabe College of Pharmacy, I began studying Traditional East Asian Medicine--completing courses in herbology and Chinese medicine theory and diagnosis at Pacific College of Health and Sciences. Additionally, I am a Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner by the Functional Medicine University. I am also in the process of becoming a Board-Certified Holistic Health Practitioner through the American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP)
With the use of carefully selected supplements as well as my experience, knowledge, and pursuit for continuing education, I hope to provide you with resources and support you may need to empower yourself during your wellness journey.

My Philosophy
In Cameron, West Africa, where my family/ancestors originally hale from, a compound describes the community in which an entire family lives, grows, and nurtures. In the medical world, compounding is the creation of a pharmaceutical drug by a licensed pharmacist to meet the unique needs of an individual patient. The name Wagala Compound speaks to a sense of community, integration of allopathic and natural pharmacy (integrative pharmacy), and a dedication to the unique needs of each individual client. Health is not just the absence of disease, but a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being. At Wagala Compound, a holistic approach ensures that we address all aspects of your health.
